New Hampshire Housing

New Hampshire Housing is a self-supporting public corporation that finances and supports housing solutions in New Hampshire, including mortgages, rental vouchers, tax credits and affordable rental development.

New Hampshire Housing is a self-supporting public corporation established by statute in 1981 that promotes, finances and supports housing solutions for residents of New Hampshire. Its work spans housing finance, mortgage lending, affordable housing development financing, rental assistance administration and public policy, with a focus on low- and moderate-income households and housing affordability. The organisation combines policy work with direct lending, resident services, partnerships with private lenders and financing for developers.

Its homeownership programmes provide mortgages, refinancing and down-payment and closing-cost assistance to homebuyers; New Hampshire Housing reports having helped more than 55,000 families achieve homeownership. In rental housing, it administers HUD Housing Choice Vouchers for low- and moderate-income households, managing thousands of vouchers annually, and allocates Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to support the development of affordable rental housing.

Through multifamily and affordable rental development financing, including supportive housing, the corporation has supported the development of more than 16,000 housing units across New Hampshire. Its operations are confined to the state, where it works at the intersection of public policy, finance and resident services.
