TRIBBU

TRIBBU, formerly Hoop Carpool, runs a carpooling platform matching drivers and passengers on similar commutes in Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Portugal.

TRIBBU, founded in 2018 and formerly known as Hoop Carpool, operates a carpooling platform that matches drivers and passengers making similar journeys, with the aim of filling empty seats on everyday commutes. The service was built first for companies and universities before being opened to individual users. It reports more than 400,000 shared trips facilitated to date and roughly 1m kg of CO2 emissions saved. The company says users save an average of €2,000 a year.

The platform is active in Spain, where the company is based in Madrid, as well as in Mexico, Colombia and Portugal. Its work spans corporate employee mobility, university transport and consumer ridesharing. In 2025 TRIBBU introduced Energy BBono, a reward mechanism for users who carpool, backed by energy savings certificates issued under the auspices of MITECO, Spain's ministry for ecological transition.

TRIBBU raised its first venture capital round in 2023. It was founded by four entrepreneurs: Paloma Martín Benito, Carlos Alonso, Andrea García and Nathan Lehoucq. The company has continued to develop the platform since its launch in 2018, including through the disruption caused by the global pandemic.
