The State of Ohio is the government of a Midwestern U.S. state admitted to the Union on March 1st 1803 as its 17th member, and the first free state admitted under the Northwest Ordinance. It employs tens of thousands of workers across numerous state agencies, under a three-branch structure of executive, judicial and legislative government. The state is home to approximately 11.8 million residents, and Mike DeWine serves as its 70th Governor. CNBC named Ohio America's Top State for Business in 2026.

Technical work at the state concentrates on digital government services, web platform development and online service delivery. Ohio.gov acts as the central hub for government information and services, and is the anchor for a set of purpose-built platforms: OhioMeansJobs for job placement assistance, Ohio Benefits for benefits eligibility checks, and the Ohio Business Gateway for business licensing. Together these systems underpin the state's work in citizen services, workforce development and public benefits administration.

Geographic presence is confined to Ohio, in the Midwestern United States. Industry verticals span government and public administration, citizen services, workforce development, business licensing and public benefits administration.
