Hadrian Automation

Hadrian Automation builds autonomous, software- and robotics-driven factories producing parts for rockets, satellites, jets and ships for aerospace and defense customers in the United States.

Hadrian Automation builds autonomous factories for the aerospace and defense industries. Using advanced software, robotics and full-stack manufacturing systems, the company produces parts for rockets, satellites, jets and ships, with stated performance of up to 10x faster manufacturing and up to 2x lower cost than conventional methods. Its premise is that the factory itself is the product: rather than selling individual components, Hadrian builds and operates the automated production systems that make them.

The company operates in the United States, with a 270,000-square-foot facility in Mesa, Arizona. It has raised $260m in Series C funding. Its customers span startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and major defense contractors across aerospace, space, aviation and shipbuilding. A stated motivation for the business is the loss of manufacturing know-how as experienced workforces retire without replacement, which Hadrian addresses through software and automation rather than labour-intensive processes.

Technical work at Hadrian spans advanced software, robotics, factory automation and autonomous manufacturing. The company describes its mission as building highly efficient factories to support domestic American manufacturing and a spacefaring future; founder Chris Power moved to the United States in 2019.
