FREE NOW

FREE NOW is a mobility super app operated by FREENOW by Lyft. It runs a two-sided marketplace connecting passengers with drivers and fleet partners, offering ride-hailing and taxi services in more than 150 cities across nine European countries, and has connected over a million passengers. The consumer app brings up to seven different ways to travel into a single place, with booking and payment handled on iOS and Android; the company says pickup takes less than four minutes from booking to back seat.

The business extends beyond the consumer app. FREENOW for Business provides enterprise mobility solutions, while a suite of B2B SaaS products modernises the traditional taxi industry through digital dispatching tools and operational software for drivers and fleet partners. In July 2025 FREE NOW was acquired by Lyft.

Engineering work spans marketplace algorithms, dynamic pricing, supply-demand matching, resource allocation and incentive optimisation, mobile development for iOS and Android, and digital dispatching systems. The company describes its purpose as helping people move freely and cities thrive, and says it empowers drivers and fleet partners to earn on their own terms.

FREE NOW operates across the European mobility, ride-hailing, taxi, enterprise mobility and logistics technology sectors, with a multinational team based in Barcelona, Berlin and Hamburg.
