ADL

ADL is a US non-profit founded in 1913 that works to stop antisemitism and secure fair treatment for all through extremism research, education, legal advocacy and incident response.

ADL is a non-profit organisation founded in 1913 to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all. It describes itself as the world's leading anti-hate organisation. Its work spans data-driven research, education, legal advocacy and incident response, delivered by a team of researchers, advocates, educators and subject-matter experts. The organisation operates through more than 25 regional offices across the United States.

Four programmes form the core of its activities. The Center on Extremism tracks hate groups and monitors extremist activity. Education Programs provide anti-bias curricula to students and reach millions of them. Legal Advocacy confronts antisemitism, extremism and bigotry through the courts and policy channels. An Incident Response Team responds to hate incidents and supports victims of hate.

Technical work at ADL includes data-driven research, social media trend analysis, extremism and hate group tracking, and the development of anti-bias education curricula. The organisation was founded on a budget of $200 and has operated for more than a century.

ADL describes itself as mission-driven, with every role connecting directly to that mission. It states that respect, integrity and accountability guide its collaboration, and that it values inclusion in the workplace as well as in the communities it serves.
