0090 Presbyterian System Services

A not-for-profit integrated healthcare system in New Mexico combining nine hospitals, a statewide health plan and a multi-specialty medical group of 850+ providers.

Presbyterian Healthcare Services, founded in 1908 and headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a locally owned, not-for-profit integrated healthcare system. It began as a single hospital and now combines three elements under one organisation: a network of nine hospitals, a statewide health plan, and a multi-specialty medical group. The integration of care delivery and care financing within a single system is unusual in American healthcare and is a defining feature of the organisation.

The medical group employs more than 850 providers across over 50 specialties and more than 100 locations throughout New Mexico. The nine hospitals provide inpatient and acute care, while the health plan covers members statewide. Coordinating these three arms allows the system to manage both the clinical and financial sides of patient care, and it is known nationally for its work in integrating healthcare financing and delivery.

Presbyterian states a mission to improve the health of patients, members and the communities it serves in New Mexico, with an emphasis on accessibility, affordability and quality of outcomes irrespective of background or circumstance. Technical and professional work spans healthcare delivery integration, healthcare financing integration, managed care, coordinated care delivery and multi-specialty clinical practice.
